Eric Johnson and Roland have teamed up to create the new Eric Johnson Blues Cube Tone Capsule. The capsule can be used in Roland's Blues Cube amps, taking the amps' vintage character and tonal possibilities to a different level.
Roland's Blues Cube amp series combines genuine tube sound and response with modern reliability and easy portability in a 1x12 combo. Roland’s Tube Logic design reproduces the inner workings of the revered tweed-era tube amp in every way, from guitar input to speaker output. It delivers the interactive tonal behaviors of famous fine-tuned vintage tube amps, including preamp and output tube distortion characteristics, power supply compression, and much more.
The Eric Johnson Tone Capsule is a modification circuit unit that attaches under the Blues Cube's chassis. Once connected, the Tone Capsule changes the tuning of the amp to one that has been personally designed by Johnson. Eric’s expert audio design delivers texture, voicing and a rich tone, giving Blues Cube an amazing likeness of his remarkable sound.
“I’ve spent years finding amplifiers to suit my tonal quest and discerning criteria to get my sound," Johnson says. "I’m excited to work with Roland to create many aspects and persona of that sound in a more compact, tangible, and affordable version for all kinds of players.”
