J. Rockett Audio has debuted its new APE Delay preamp.

Built with an exact replica of the entire analog circuit of the Echoplex EP-3 tape delay, the APE Delay features controls for Mix - to control the wet/dry mix in loop mode - Repeats - to control the number of repeats - and REC, for controlling the gain on delayed notes.

It can be used as a standalone effect, or placed in front of the user's delay pedal or in loop setup. In loop setup, the user's delay pedal is connected to the APE pedal's external delay loop.

Elsewhere, there are footswitches for turning the pedal on or off and engaging the loop mode. Once the loop mode is engaged, the delay pedal you've connected in the loop is brought into the signal path.

The J. Rockett Audio APE Delay preamp is available now for $199.
