Blackstar has debuted its new Silverline range of digital amplifiers.
Each Silverline amp runs on the company's SHARC DSP platform, which runs algorithms that recreate analogue circuit parameters. Though the company says that Silverlines aren't modeling amps per se, they are said to deliver the “nuanced feel, vibe and response of six of the most coveted valve power sections in the world,” these being KT88, 6L6, KT66, EL34, 6V6 and EL84 tubes.
Each of the amps feature Celestion V-type speakers and 12 preset locations, which expand to 128 if you're using the amp in tandem with an FS-10 footswitch or MD-1 MIDI controller.
Six preamp voices - Clean Warm, Clean Bright, Crunch, Super Crunch, OD 1 and OD 2 - come standard, in addition to six power amp sections. The amps also feature 12 onboard effects - divvied up into mod (modulation), dly (delay) and rev (reverb) - each of which are based on classic designs.
Elsewhere, the amps also feature a speaker emulated output, a headphone jack, MP3 inputs and a USB port for connecting to the company's INSIDER software, which provides deep editing, preset organization and patch sharing.
The five amplifiers in the Silverline series are the 20-watt 1x10" Silverline Standard combo, the 50-watt 1x12" Silverline Special combo, the 100-watt 1x12" Silverline Deluxe combo, the 100-watt 2x12" Silverline Deluxe Stereo and the 100-watt Silverline Deluxe head.
