I’ve scored some of my best used guitar gear finds at Reverb, and right now there's up to 66% off in their summer sale

Everyone’s looking for ways to save these days, and that goes for us guitarists, too. With money not going as far as it used to, it’s a great time to start looking at buying used gear if you’ve not already taken the plunge.

At Reverb, arguably the biggest used gear website right now, to celebrate them becoming independently owned again, you can get some massive discounts of up to 66% off brand new, B-stock, and used gear. With the oncoming onslaught of Prime Day guitar deals we're about to witness next week, it's the perfect place to pick up an early deal.

I’ve been buying used gear for years now, particularly when it comes to guitar pedals, which I like to switch out regularly. I’ve bought and sold plenty of pedals on Reverb, and so far I’ve never had any issues with getting less-than-stellar gear, often with the original boxes they came in.

It’s not just used gear deals available on Reverb though, you can get your hands on some big savings on brand new gear, too. This Electro-Harmonix Lizard Queen is available for just $39.60, down from its original price of $99.

That’s a $59.40 saving on a brand new pedal, which is great value in anyone’s book. With the choice of high or low octaves to add to a vintage fuzz tone, it’s a great pedal to have on your pedalboard for relatively little money.

Reverb Independents Day Sale: Up to 66% off
Buying used is a great way to save big bucks on new gear, and Reverb's latest sale makes it even better value for money with up to 66% off music gear. There’s a great selection of used gear from independent retailers, but you can also bag big savings on B-stock and brand new gear in the sale.

B-stock is another option on Reverb, and comes with less perceived risk than buying used. Many manufacturers sell their B-stock direct on Reverb, and often this gear comes with a full warranty as if you were buying new. Typically, they’ll have had the box opened, or been used as demo or display gear, so they might have some small cosmetic blemishes.

The Warm Audio Jet Phaser is a great example of this, available for just $87.20 at the Warm Audio Official B-Stock Shop on Reverb. Featuring the same 1-year warranty as any new piece of gear from Warm Audio, this large-form-factor phaser pedal is a great deal.

Based on the legendary Roland AP-7, which defined the phaser sound of the '70s, it’s got six modes to play with, offering plenty of flexibility for fuzzed-out phase sounds from subtle swooshes to properly out there sci-fi sounds.

Of course, if you really want to save some cash, then buying used is the best way to do so. This Boss MD-500 is available for just $391.59, which is nearly $50 less than the new price. Packed with all manner of modulation sounds, stereo operation, and the ability to use two patches at the same time, it’s the perfect pedal to add to your effects loop and add some serious texture to your tone.
