If you’ve always dreamed of having a roadie to tune your guitars for you, dream no more. For $99, you can have Roadie, the automatic guitar tuner.

Roadie works in conjunction with your smartphone to tune your guitar quickly and without twisting your fingers. It consists of a handheld motorized tuner that you place on your tuning peg and an app for your smartphone. Roadie connects to the app via Bluetooth for fast hook-up anywhere.

Select the tuning you want via the app’s menu, place the Roadie on the tuning peg and pick the associated string. Roadie automatically tunes the string to the proper pitch.

The app “hears” your guitar via your phone’s mic, and you can use the Roadie adapter to plug electric guitars into your phone for tuning in noisy environments.

Roadie also works ukuleles, mandolins, banjos...any stringed instrument that use tuning pegs except basses, violins and instruments with wood pegs.

The app comes with a wide range of common and useful tunings, and you can create custom tunings of your own.

And because Roadie is doing the turning for you, it can keep track of your strings’ elasticity and tonal signature and let you know when to replace them. When the time comes, Roadie can unwind your old strings and wind your new ones in seconds.

Pretty amazing. And you don’t even have to give it beer money or worry about it trying to score with your date.

Roadie costs $99. Check it out in the video below and at the company’s website.
