D'Addario has launched a new site for their Play Fearlessly Project and they're putting out a call to all guitarists to upload their own “Play Fearlessly” videos and be apart of the longest lick ever played.
The project showcases D’Addario's new NYXL strings which boast unprecedented strength, improved tuning stability, and a louder, brighter sound. The next-generation strings are built with a proprietary wire drawn at D’Addario’s New York headquarters.
The Play Fearlessly Project began in March of 2014 with a Suhr Classic-T guitar outfitted with NYXL strings. The guitar made stops in New York City, Nashville, and Los Angeles, where professional artists participated. This was followed by a series of public events at select Guitar Center stores across the country in May and the London Guitar Show in September, where visitors had a chance to participate.
These contributions are now live on playfearlessly.com and part of the “longest lick ever played”—an eclectic mix of music by a range of artists, from amateur to professional.
With the launch of playfearlessly.com, the project is also officially open for public participation. Each video uploaded to the site will be added to the project, and participants can share their contribution socially across the web with their own unique URL, for example: http://playfearlessly.com/video/tosin-abasi/.
The Play Fearlessly guitar was donated by Suhr Guitars in California. With the addition of NYXL strings, the entire instrument is American-made.
