One of the best sales for guitarists I’ve seen this year just launched at Thomann, with over 500 items on sale and ginormous discounts of up to 70% off. Whether you’re in the market for a new guitar, amp, or guitar pedal, it’s well worth taking the time to browse the deals and see what’s available.

The sale will be live for just ten days, so you haven’t got loads of time to take advantage. In the time it took me to write this article I already noticed some items had sold out, like the Epiphone Shinichi Ubukata Signature ES-355 which had a massive £474 off. There are loads of big brands in the sale like Epiphone, ESP, Gibson, Taylor, and plenty more, plus some great offerings from brands in the more budget spectrum like Harley Benton and Mooer.

I’ve had a look through every item in the sale, and one of the first to catch my eye was this Gibson Hummingbird Standard. It’s got an unparalleled £1,063 off at the moment, which is one of the biggest discounts I’ve seen all year. It’s the Wine Red version rather than the standard Cherry, which I think looks a little less gaudy than the typical Hummingbird aesthetic.

One of the icons of the acoustic guitar world, the Hummingbird Standard delivers incredible dynamics and a sugary unplugged voice that works well in pretty much any genre. The classic tonewood combination of solid mahogany back and sides alongside a solid Sitka spruce top is really well put together, giving you a guitar that will stand the test of time and sound even better as it ages.

Thomann Guitar Days: Huge up to 70% off
With over 500 bits of guitar gear on sale, the Thomann Guitar Days sale is the place to be if you’re a guitarist looking for a discount. With plenty of big brands like Gibson, ESP, Epiphone, and PRS represented, you can also bag some nice savings on more discount offerings from Mooer, Harley Benton, and plenty more. The sale lasts until October 28th, so you’ll need to move fast to bag these deals as items are already selling out.

If you’re after a new guitar pedal but need something inherently versatile, you should check out the TC Electronic Plethora X1. It’s got 14 of TC’s most famous effects, which makes it great for filling a gap on a pedalboard that needs a big variety of sounds. It’s got a nice £31 reduction in the sale, which brings the price down below the £100 mark. Considering it's essentially 14 pedals in one, that’s an excellent deal in my book.

The footprint is impressively small, which means you’ll be able to fit it on busy pedalboards. You will have to tweak effects in the app or on the computer to really nail them, but once your effects are set it can be a phaser, flanger, chorus, vibe, pitch shifter, tremolo, and even a looper, making it the sort of pedal that will be useful to any guitar player.

Finally, I spotted another gigantic discount on this Taylor AD14ce-SB acoustic guitar, which has a humongous £482 price drop. It’s a limited edition guitar with only 1,974 being made, and with it being a Taylor, you know it’s a quality instrument that will stand the test of time.

It works really well with fingerstyle guitar, lending a sparkly tone that cuts through really nicely. It’s resonant with plenty of gorgeous overtones and harmonics when you start laying into it with a pick, the walnut and spruce tonewood combination reacting brilliantly to your playing dynamics.
