The pedal version of Eddie Van Halen's live rig is 24 percent off at Amazon's Black Friday sales event
Developed by Eddie, EVH and Boss, the SDE-3000EVH Dual Digital Delay re-creates the two-delay setup that was at the heart of his stage gear
From 1985 forward, Eddie Van Halen relied on a pair of Roland SDE-3000 digital delays to define his massive live sound. They were central to both his early stereo setup and, later, in his pioneering wet/dry/wet rig, which placed a dry signal in the center and delay-processed signals left and right for immense width without losing clarity or punch.
Rigs like Eddie’s can be complex and costly to build, but in 2015 Ed and EVH partnered with Boss to begin development of the SDE-3000EVH Dual Digital Delay. It’s a remarkable pedal that combines two SDE-3000 delays with smart features that simplify the wet/dry/wet rig for studio and stage. They also make it much less expensive.
Now it gets even cheaper. During Amazon’s Black Friday sales event, take 24 percent off the already low price and get the Boss SDE-3000EVH for just $499.99.
The Boss SDE-3000EVH delivers a convincing, stage-ready re-creation of the stereo delays that powered Eddie Van Halen’s legendary wet/dry/wet rig. Shrinking two vintage Roland SDE-3000 rack units into a rugged floor pedal, it captures the original’s warm, spacious character while adding modern flexibility. Dual delay lines, extensive routing options, and up to 3,000ms of delay time make dialing in EVH-style width effortless. The retro display, modulation, phase switching, and tone-shaping filters all feel authentically old school, while MIDI and external switching expand control. With eight presets pulled directly from Van Halen’s live rig, this pedal brings his iconic spatial roar within reach.
