Joe Walsh teamed up with former James Gang guitarist Glenn Schwartz at a secret show in Nashville on February 27.

The performance, held at Robert’s Western World, featured Dan Auerbach’s band the Arcs. Walsh and Schwartz have been in the studio with the Arcs, as well as with Schwartz’s brother Gene.

It was Schwartz’s departure from James Gang in 1967 that opened the door for Walsh to join the group. The two men had been friends, and when Walsh heard Schwartz had left, he asked to audition for his spot. The band saw its greatest success with Walsh, but he left in 1971 and built a successful solo career. Walsh eventually joined the Eagles, where he enjoyed even greater popularity.

Schwartz shared a brief clip from the show on his Facebook page. We’ll post more video if it becomes available.

Two old friends back together again.
