With B.B. King’s passing, Buddy Guy is perhaps the premiere blues ambassador on the planet, and there are no signs that 2015’s Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award winner is slowing down at all. Guy’s performance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage in May was the most invigorating and electrifying from any performer at any age.

Guy’s got a brand new CD called Born to Play Guitar dropping July 31, and it includes collaborations with A-list performers such as ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, and Van Morrison, who appears on a song dedicated to King called “Flesh & Bone.” Guitar Player has an audio preview of the title track. Listen to it and get the full track listing here

Guitar Player Presents is proud to help SFJAZZ welcome wild blues guru Guy to the home of the San Francisco Symphony located in the heart of San Francisco’s Civic Center district across from City Hall.

Get more information and secure tickets to the SFJAZZ Summer Session show at plush Davies Symphony Hall here.
