Win tickets to see ZZ Top & Cheap Trick in Northern California at Guitar Player Presents
Rock out with Billy Gibbons and Rick Nielsen at the majestic Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA., Saturday, August 8
Guitar Player Presents is proud to partner with AEG to welcome ZZ Top with special guest Cheap Trick for a double set of classic guitar rock on a scenic mountain top.
Billy Gibbons has spent more than five decades proving that feel beats flash. His playing is instantly recognizable, whether it’s the fat, vocal-like lead tone, the economy of his phrasing, or the way he threads blues, boogie and rock into riffs that have become part of the electric guitar canon. Songs like “La Grange,” “Tush,” “Jesus Just Left Chicago,” “Sharp Dressed Man,” and “Gimme All Your Lovin’” remain master classes in serving the song while leaving an unmistakable signature.
Rick Nielsen has built a career on the same principle from a different angle. A world-class collector of vintage guitars and one of rock’s great entertainers, he’s also the architect behind Cheap Trick’s blend of Beatles-worthy hooks, hard rock muscle, and razor-sharp rhythm guitar. From the enduring power of At Budokan to the band’s latest material, Nielsen’s inventive playing and infectious stage presence have made Cheap Trick one of rock’s most consistently rewarding live acts.
