Asken Drop Top

Asken Guitars - a Los Angeles-based builder and repair shop - has introduced its own line of guitars, the Drop Top series.

A built-to-order single-cut, the Drop Top features a chambered Honduran mahogany body with a quilted birds-eye maple top, quarter-sawn African mahogany neck with an asymmetrical soft V profile and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.

On the sonics front, the Drop Top packs two Ian Anderson custom humbuckers, controlled by single volume and tone knobs and a five-way selector switch. Elsewhere, there's Gotoh Vintage Staggered tuners and a choice of Callaham, Wudtone or Evertune bridges.

The Asken Drop Top series guitar is available now for a street price of $2,899.
