In ‘Spooky Action’ The Fierce and The Dead have crafted an album of unimpeachable originality resulting in what can only be described as a modern day progressive record which takes in everything from King Crimson to Sonic Youth.

The album’s eleven instrumental tracks display an impressive vision. The band work with equal fervour whether painting wide open post-rock skies, casting searing high-attitude punk-rock acid rain or rending wrenching, crunching, funhouse-mirror progressive rock.

This year, the talented outfit consisting of bassist & producer Kev Feazey, guitarists Matt Stevens & Steve Cleaton and drummer Stuart Marshall were bestowed the great honour of being nominated for a Prog award.

The Fierce & The Dead came about from a recording experiment that was initially intended for guitarist Matt's second solo album, but it started to grow legs and arms and evolved into its own animal.

Expanding and establishing their sound since then the band have already released one full-length album and two EPs to great critical acclaim.
Ever keen to push their music out to as many people as possible without compromising their absolute vision, 2013 saw the band sign to Bad Elephant Music in view of releasing their highly anticipated second album. And here it is! ‘Spooky Action’ is released on the 4th November 2013 and is described by Matt Stevens from the band as “Songs about cults, quantum physics and absent friends”.

Autumn will see the TFATD bring their tour-de-force show to the UK and Europe in support of the release – look out, watch out!
