Eric Gales has been a well-known and hugely respected six-stringer ever since he leapt out of Memphis and onto the international music scene in the early ’90s when he was still a teenager many hailed as “the next Jimi Hendrix.” Certain aspects of that lofty comparison are obvious, as Gales is a black left-hander famous for playing a righty-Strat flipped upside-down, and he demonstrates a similarly rare natural command of blues-rock. Of course, no one can truly live up to Hendrix-level hype, but Gales has maintained an impressive career as a bandleader, and GP is proud to help welcome him to the San Francisco Bay Area supporting his 15th studio album, Middle of the Road, which was released last year on the venerable guitarist haven Provogue/Mascot.
Gales’ playing is fiery and inspired throughout Middle of the Road, which has a funky, infectious flavor that’s bound to be a blast to catch live at the intimate Club Fox. GP Presents will be on hand with free magazines and D’Addario strings for players that show up to support the maestro. Get your tickets now here.
