“It brings everything musicians love about classic Gibson acoustics to a new generation of players.” Gibson and Guitar Center resurrect one of the guitar maker’s most beloved acoustic guitars for modern players
The Country Western Studio EC Acoustic-Electric Guitar is available now, exclusively at Guitar Center stores and online at GuitarCenter.com.

Gibson and Guitar Center have teamed up to resurrect one of Gibson’s most beloved acoustic guitars with a fresh twist for modern players: the Country Western Studio EC Acoustic-Electric Guitar, available now exclusively at Guitar Center stores nationwide and online at GuitarCenter.com.
A reimagining of the original 1955 Country Western — the Southern Jumbo’s sibling — the Studio EC brings the timeless warmth and balance of Gibson’s square-shouldered dreadnoughts into the 21st century. It’s priced at $2,999 and blends vintage style with modern comfort, including a cutaway body for improved upper-fret access and a sleek satin finish that enhances both resonance and feel.
Under the hood, the guitar pairs a solid Sitka spruce top with mahogany back, sides, and neck, producing that classic Gibson blend of sparkle and warmth. A short 24.75-inch scale and rounded neck profile make for an easy, relaxed playing experience, while the rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays adds an unmistakable vintage vibe.
Cosmetically, the Country Western Studio EC channels mid-century cool with a yellow tortoiseshell pickguard, gold Gibson headstock logo, and nickel hardware with white-button tuners — a look that nods to Gibson’s past without feeling stuck in it.
To bring that tone to the stage, Gibson fits the model with the L.R. Baggs Element Bronze pickup system, which captures the guitar’s natural resonance and warmth with impressive realism. It’s a plug-and-play setup designed for both live and studio work, and each instrument ships with a hardshell case.
“The Gibson Country Western Studio EC brings everything musicians love about classic Gibson acoustics to a new generation of players,” says Gabe Dalporto, CEO of Guitar Center. “It combines timeless tone and craftsmanship with the modern playability artists expect today, and we’re proud to offer it exclusively at Guitar Center.”
The Gibson Country Western Studio EC Acoustic-Electric Guitar is available now for $2,999, exclusively through Guitar Center.
