IF THERE’S ONE THING WE GUITARISTS TEND TO GET MORE EXCITED ABOUT THAN A SEXY STOMPBOX, it’s a bevy of sexy stompboxes. And, of course, once we have more than two or three, our minds naturally turn to pedalboards. Besides making for a tidier rig, reducing setup time, and providing protection for your prized pedals, a properly wired pedalboard can also improve your overall sound and lessen the possibility of cable failure and other technical headaches. Between building your own ’board from a piece of wood, and having a pro build you one for a premium price, there’s the option of purchasing a prefab pedalboard, and mounting and setting it up yourself. Choices abound, but listed here are 13 ’board builders of note.
