As many guitarists have learned, combining the major and minor pentatonic scale lets you take your guitar solos much further than you could by sticking to one scale or the other. This was a common technique of players like B.B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughan, as well as Eric Clapton.

In this video, John Tuggle demonstrates how you can combine the major and minor pentatonic scales to create Clapton-like licks and solos.

Take a look, and if you like what you see, John has created two full courses called Play Like Clapton that can teach you additional techniques. You can find out more here.
