We’ve seen a number of fingerstyle performances of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and Edgar Cruz’s is up there with the best of them. Not only is the playing fantastic but the two-camera setup lets you check out both hands at once.
A classical and fingerstyle guitarist from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Cruz has released 16 records in styles ranging from classical to flamenco to pop and jazz. He’s probably best known for this rendition of the classic Queen tune, and for good reason. His performance is impeccable, and his arrangement gathers all of the song’s key guitar elements and presents them in a beautiful score.
Best of all, Cruz’s tab for the performance is available here or by following the links on the YouTube page for this video. Watch the video, and then give it a try yourself. You can also visit Cruz’s web page here.
