We’ve all seen Prince shred on behalf of George Harrison at the 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Prince’s performance with Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne and Dhani Harrison is a standout thanks to his stellar extended guitar solo.
But Prince was himself inducted into the Rock Hall at the 2004 ceremony, held on March 15, 2004. And now his own performance footage from the ceremony has been released.
At the time, Prince was less than two weeks away from launching an arena tour, and the Hall of Fame show was a chance to let the audience preview the material. His 11-minute set includes an edit of Sheila E’s “The Glamorous Life,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Sign ‘O’ the Times,” the intro to Sam and Dave’s “Soul Man” and his hit “Kiss.”
