Tommy Emmanuel delivers a blistering version of Mason William’s 1968 hit “Classical Gas” in the video below.

The guitarist is celebrated for his technically impressive fingerstyle workouts, but he really outdoes himself in this impressive display of virtuosity.

Along the way, Emmanuel works in the main riff from the Ventures’ 1960 hit “Walk Don’t Run” and Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting.”

Emmanuel is currently celebrating the release of his new album, It’s Never Too Late, which came out this past September. It’s his first completely solo studio recording in 15 years. On it, he covers a range of genres, including blues (“One Mint Julep”), Latin (“El Vaquero”) and folk (“The Duke”), handling it all with aplomb no matter what style he plays in or what technique he uses.

It’s Never Too Late is available on CD, vinyl and digital.
