Alfred Music, in association with ABKCO Music, Inc., pays tribute to The Rolling Stones with the release of the 50th anniversary collectible hard cover edition of The Rolling Stones: 50 Songs for 50 Years. This new songbook features full guitar TAB transcriptions for 50 early classics from this iconic band.
The Rolling Stones have been ranked fourth on the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time” list by Rolling Stone magazine. They have released twenty-four studio albums, eleven live albums, and numerous compilations. The Rolling Stones: 50 Songs for 50 Years includes early pieces from the band that reflect the impact their music had within the music industry and pop culture, including Brown Sugar,” “Paint It, Black,” “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” “Wild Horses,” and “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” Forty-five additional songs are included in this hard cover songbook, all of which feature the most accurate transcriptions for all of Keith Richards, Brian Jones, and Mick Taylor’s classic guitar parts.
In addition, the book features two bonus sections--a consolidated library of the classic Stones’ guitar riffs, as well as a commemorative ABKCO Years color discography.
The music of the Rolling Stones was instrumental in making blues a major part of rock and roll. This English rock band, which formed in 1962, was a precursor to the British Invasion that became popularized in the United States from 1964-65, serving as a symbol of rebellious youth. “It’s incredible to think about working with the same band for fifty years,” Mick Jagger says on the band’s official website. “Of course, members have come and gone over the years, but it is still The Rolling Stones. Inevitably it makes you think about the mortality of it.”
“We are pleased to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rolling Stones with this new product,” said Aaron Stang, editor of The Rolling Stones: 50 Songs for 50 Years. “We feel that this hard cover collectible edition honors the legacy that this iconic band has built and offers a fantastic reference tool for fans.”
The Rolling Stones: 50 Songs for 50 Years is now available for $59.99 at music retail stores and at alfred.com.
