Guitar Player is proud to present the exclusive premiere of the Steve Miller Band’s “Space Cowboy” (Alternate Version/Live). The track comes from Welcome to the Vault, a massive 3-CD+DVD collection spanning Miller’s career.

Set for an October 11 release, Welcome to the Vault features 52 tracks, including 38 previously unreleased recordings, plus another 21 live performances on DVD. The set contains demos, rehearsals and outtakes, including never-before-released alternate versions of classic Miller Band tunes like “Fly Like an Eagle,” “Rock’n Me” and “Jet Airliner.”

The DVD’s 21 live performances include rare footage of the Steve Miller Band performing at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, on Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert in 1973 and on ABC’s In Concert in 1974. There are also selections from the group’s appearances at a 1970 concert at the Fillmore West filmed for Dutch TV, at Michigan’s Pine Knob venue in 1982, and at Austin City Limits in 2011, as well as a clip of Miller and Les Paul at Fat Tuesdays in 1990.

The entire collection is housed in a 100-page hard-bound book of Miller’s personal photos that includes a 7,000-word essay by David Fricke. It also comes with 10 guitar picks featuring Miller's Pegasus logo and an authentic backstage pass.

In addition, fans can purchase Selections from the Vault, a single-CD package featuring 13 tracks, 12 of which are previously unreleased, all taken from the deluxe Welcome to the Vault box set.
