George Harrison All-Star Concert Tribute Coming Out in February

An all-star concert celebrating the music of George Harrison will be released in audio and video packages. Titled George Fest: A Night to Celebrate the Music of George Harrison, the document comes out February 26, the day after what would have been Harrison’s 73rd birthday.

The concert took place on September 28, 2014 at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theater and featured the Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson and Al Jardine, the Flaming Lips, Norah Jones, Ben Harper, Heart’s Ann Wilson, the Strokes’ Nick Valensi and the Cult’s Ian Astbury, among others. The event was produced by David Zonshine and Harrison’s son, Dhani.

You can hear an audio clip from the concert below. The video features the Killers’ Brandon Flowers, Spoon’s Britt Daniel, Wayne Coyne “Weird Al” Yankovic and Dhani Harrison performing the “Handle with Care,” the hit Harrison performed with his all-star group the Traveling Wilburys.

George Fest will be released as a two-CD/DVD, two-CD/Blu-Ray, three-LP and digital download. The video component of the collection features interviews with the musicians backstage and at rehearsals talking about Harrison's influence on their music.
