NME.com announced today that Ed Sheeran will play himself in a Beatles-inspired movie directed by Danny Boyle and written by Richard Curtis.
The as-yet-untitled film has an expected release date of September 2019, and deals with a singer/songwriter (played by Himesh Patel) who awakens one day to discover he is the only person who remembers the Beatles. Is this a horror flick or what?
"I discover him and take him on tour," says Sheeran of the songwriter. "Then, he gets much bigger than me. It's very clever. I was playing myself, so there wasn't much to mess up."
Apologies if you're shaken by the thought of the Beatles being erased from the cultural consciousness of the galaxy. To ease any angst, here's some Mop Top joy to savor...
