B.B. King is back home and feeling better. King was hospitalized near his Las Vegas home over the weekend with dehydration brought about by Type II diabetes. The blues guitar legend, who is 89 years old, was diagnosed with the disease more than two decades ago.
A note on King’s Facebook page on Tuesday said he was doing better and would be leaving the hospital that day.
“I want to thank everyone for their concern and good wishes,” the note read. “I’m feeling much better & am leaving the hospital today.”
King was forced to cancel eight shows last October due to dehydration and exhaustion following a performance at Chicago’s House of Blues.
The guitarist has spent more than 65 years on the road, often performing more than 300 shows a year. Health problems have forced him to cut back the number of performances in recent years.
