Last night’s official announcement that Axl Rose would be fronting AC/DC for the remainder of their tour dates came at a suspiciously late hour.
Turns out there was probably a good reason for that. Guns N’ Roses were headlining Coachella last night, and who should they bring out to join them but AC/DC guitarist Angus Young.
The guitarist performed AC/DC’s “Whole Lotta Rosie” and Powerage track “Riff Raff.”
Rose, who is still nursing a broken foot from Guns N’ Roses’ gig at the Troubadour on April 1, spent the evening performing on Dave Grohl’s guitar throne. “Since I can’t run around for you we’re going to bring out a friend to put a little life into things for us,” Rose told the crowd. “Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Angus Young!”
