Duff McKagan and Izzy Stradlin are back in the studio making a new album. McKagan shared a video from their sessions, shown below, on Facebook recently.

The duo are recording the album at Jupiter Studios in Seattle with Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga and bassist Jeff Rouse. Rouse, who plays in Duff McKagan’s Loaded, shot the video.

McKagan has worked on many of Stradlin’s solo albums since the two departed Guns N’ Roses in the Nineties, but this is the first time the pair have set off to make an album together.

“I really trust whatever he does,” McKagan tells Team Rock, explaining his long-time involvement with Stradlin. “If he says, ‘I’ve got a part,’ I know he’s got a part. It’s not like, ‘Let me hear it.’ It’s like, ‘He’s got the part. Good – that’s taken care of.’”

The video, which is admittedly brief, lets you hear one of the tracks the group is working on, a rock song with a driving acoustic guitar rhythm that brings to mind (mine at least) a slower version of the GN’R track “Used to Love Her.” Enjoy.
