You never know what you’re going to get at a Foo Fighters show these days, but it’s almost certain to include a guest star and a cover tune.
For example, on September 19, the band performed Rush’s “Tom Sawyer” with Jon Davison from Yes, who happens to be a childhood friend of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.
Then, at the Foos' show this past Friday night in Phoenix, Arizona, they invited Jewel onstage.
When Dave Grohl introduced the singer, he said they’d been planning on playing “some nice thing [they] thought would sound good.” Instead, we're told, "Jewel said, 'I wanna do this'."
Then Grohl launched into Jimmy Page's famous intro to Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.”
You can take in some fan-shot footage of the performance below.
