Ozzy Osbourne Confirms Black Sabbath’s Demise as Group Adds New Tour Dates

October 28, 2015

In a new interview with NOLA.com, Ozzy Osbourne confirms Black Sabbath will break up following the band’s The End tour, even as the group adds performance dates to extend the jaunt.

“It’s the end of Sabbath, believe me,” Ozzy Osbourne says in the interview.

“In December, I’ll be fuckin’ 68, and I think it’s time to call it the end of the day. I’m not saying I won’t get on stage with Geezer [Butler] or Tony [Iommi] or any of them some time, but officially we’re going to be done. I don’t want it to dwindle and dwindle and play just for the sake of making another fuckin’ sack full of cash. So it’s time, and then I’ll go back to doing my own thing.”

Black Sabbath added new dates to The End tour in response to increased demand. After performing in North America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, Sabbath will end the tour with a second run of North American dates in fall 2016.

The newest leg of the tour begins August 17 at Jones Beach Amphitheater in New York and includes stops at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto, Detroit, and Dallas, among others, before wrapping September 21 at AK-Chin Pavilion in Phoenix, Arizona.
