Domenic Troiano

August 19, 2005

Canadian guitarist Domenic Troiano died on May 25, following a long fight with cancer. He was 59. Troiano played with Robbie Lane & the Disciples in the ’60s, replaced Joe Walsh in the James Gang, and was a member of the Guess Who and the Dominic Troiano Band. He was also a music supervisor for films and television, and, in the ’80s, did session work for Steely Dan, Diana Ross, and other major artists. He was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1996. Producer Bob Ezrin told Billboard: “He has had an influence on every kid who picked up a guitar in Canada since he started playing.”
