This clip of the late Scotty Moore jamming with Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler and other rock and roll greats comes from A Tribute to the King, an Elvis Presley tribute performance held at London’s Abbey Road Studios in December 2004.
The backing group for the show is former Rolling Stone bassist Bill Wyman’s band, the Rhythm Kings, who ably support the guest musicians. In addition to Clapton and Knopfler, guests for the sessions included David Gilmour, Ron Wood and Albert Lee.
In this clip, Moore, Clapton, Knopfler, Lee and Wood play a medley of Presley’s hits, including “That’s All Right,” “Blue Moon of Kentucky,” “Baby Let’s Play House” and “Mystery Train.”
Moore died on June 28 following a long illness. He was 84.
