Paul McCartney invited former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic to join him for a performance of the Beatles’ “Helter Skelter” at the end of his show in Seattle on April 17.

McCartney is currently performing his One on One tour in North America, playing a show that’s packed with his solo tunes as well as songs by the Beatles and his post-Fab outfit Wings.

McCartney became friends with Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear in 2012 when the Beatles legend joined the surviving Nirvana members for an impromptu jam. That session resulted in the collaborative track “Cut Me Some Slack,” which was subsequently performed at the 12-12-12 concert for Hurricane Sandy relief. The tune also won the Grammy for Best Rock Song in 2014.

Following the April 17 show, Novoselic tweeted his thanks to McCartney.

McCartney soon replied with his own tweet that included a photo of the two onstage in Seattle.
