Jimmy Page and Aerosmith Play Zeppelin, Hendrix and Yardbirds 25 Years Ago This Week | VIDEO

Twenty-five years ago this week, Aerosmith played the Monsters of Rock Festival at Castle Donington with Jimmy Page joining them for a crowd-pleasing two-song jam.

The performance, which you can see below, features Page and the group playing “Train Kept a Rollin’” and “Walk This Way.” The former song was one Page knew particularly well, as he’d played it extensively as a member of the Yardbirds and during the early days of Led Zeppelin.

The video opens with backstage footage of Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry working out the set list for the show. Page joins them, and they discuss the arrangement for the night’s two songs that Page performs with them. The performance gets underway around 3:33.

Two nights later, Page again joined Aerosmith at London’s Marquee Club for an evening performance. That show included the Yardbirds’ “Ain't Got You” and “Think About It,” Jimi Hendrix’s “Red House,” Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” and “Train Kept a Rollin’.” Video for that show is included below the Donington footage.
