We recently shared Jim Lill’s video demonstrating “The Difference Delay Makes.” Conceptually simple, the video makes a profound point about how delay can add a touch of magic to a rhythm part, a lick or a riff.

Now Jim has applied this approach to one of guitarists’ favorite effects: tremolo! In “The Difference Tremolo Makes,” he performs four examples with and without tremolo to demonstrate how the effect can change the attitude of what you play. For each example, he provides the relevant effect settings, just as he did for the delay video.

As always, we encourage you to visit Jim’s YouTube channel for more of his great videos, many of which we’ve featured in our Guitar Essentials series. Be sure to give his videos a “like” and leave a thanks.

In addition, be sure to take a look at Jim’s Guitar-Lick-A-Day Instagram page, where you can learn a new lick every day, with tab available for each lick.
