Geddy Lee to Auction Off Six Vintage Guitars

The guitars - all from the Rush frontman's personal collection - include a '59 Les Paul, a '55 Strat and more.

Rush's Geddy Lee has announced that he is auctioning off six vintage guitars from his personal collection.

The auction, which will be held by Mecum Auctions in Las Vegas from October 10-12, features six '50s and '60s era Gibsons and Fenders. It's the first time Lee has ever auctioned an instrument from his personal collection.

According to Mecum, Lee's '59 burst is completely original, save for a single refret, and even comes with its original case. The guitar is one of the only 650 highly-coveted Les Paul Standards that were produced in 1959.

Lee's 1955 Strat is completely original, and comes with its original tweed Fender case. It's been given a Certificate of Authenticity by Gruhn Guitars, and has a maple headstock, neck and fingerboard.
