Richard Albero was a contributing writer for Guitar Player in the 1970s. He wrote the magazine's tribute to Duane Allman, which appeared in the May/June 1973 issue and included the first deep investigation into Allman's background, musical history and gear. Albero also profiled jazz great Sal Salvador and eclectic folk stylist Sandy Bull for the magazine.
