Rusty Anderson's sophomore solo album Born On Earth arrives in stores on his own Oxide Records, via a distribution deal with Megaforce through RED.
Born On Earth is a loosely conceptual look at modern life and what it's like, as individuals and in communities, to be alive in this era and on our planet, while musically it's a diverse mix of guitar-heavy and dreamy modern rock/classic power-pop.  Anderson, perhaps most immediately recognized as lead guitarist for the Paul McCartney Band, fills the album with his free, expressive guitar playing yet displays a remarkable gift for restraint, while his clear tenor soars throughout.  This striking combination has been earning Born On Earth praise, with American Songwriter recently declaring the album to be "...relatively timeless. It would fit in well with the collection of a Beatle-age music lover as well as the playlist of a college student" and The Kansas City Star calling it "a collection of dynamic, well-crafted modern pop/rock tunes."
Additionally, premiered album track "Where Would We Go?" late last month, calling it "a sumptuously summer sound."  The song can also now be downloaded here.  "Where Would We Go?" is also currently getting major market radio airplay in multiple cities, including: Salt Lake City, UT; Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA; Philadelphia, PA; Denver, CO; Santa Fe, NM; Charlotte, NC; and Portland, OR.

In addition to his own solo career, Anderson has played in a number of bands, notably Animal Logic (with The Police's Stewart Copeland and legendary bassist Stanley Clarke) and '90s alternative rockers Ednaswap, who released four major label albums and wrote the hit single "Torn" (later covered by Natalie Imbruglia).  He has also lent his considerable guitar skills to a stellar list of top artists that includes: Elton John, Willie Nelson, Joe Cocker, Stevie Nicks, Neil Diamond, Gwen Stefani, Regina Spektor, Nelly Furtado, Cat Stevens, Jewel, and Matthew Sweet.    Anderson has played with McCartney both live and on record since 2001, and recently celebrated the Paul McCartney Band's 200th show together on July 13th at the Rio Tinto Stadium in Salt Lake City, UT.  Anderson will be on the road with the Paul McCartney Band through August, backing McCartney on his 'Up And Coming Tour.'
