Anyone who plays the blues—or has attempted to—knows you can’t convey the right attitude and feel by strumming plain-old major chords. The blues tones just aren’t there.

For an authentic blues vibe, you need to add the dominant seven.

In this lesson from his course Triple Your Chords in 7 Days, Steve Stine demonstrates how to create bluesy sounding chord progressions with both open and barre chords.

Steve starts out by demonstrating dominant seven open chords. At 7:15, he talks about barre chords and demonstrates some different voicings of dominant seven barre chords.
