Zakk Wylde will be back in the studio this summer to start work on a new album titled Book of Shadows Volume II. Zakk plans to release it next year to coincide with the 20th anniversary of Book of Shadows, his 1996 debut solo album.
His wife and co-manager, Barbaranne, confirmed the news in an interview with Examiner.com. She said Zakk plans to start working on the album once Black Label Society complete the spring tour dates around their 2013 live acoustic album, Unblackened.
“We are excited to announce that Zakk is entering the studio after this Unblackened Spring 2015 tour to record BOSII [Book of Shadows Volume II] which will be released early 2016, the 20th Anniversary of the original BOS, followed by a world tour to support that side of Zakk’s music,” Barbaranne said.
Black Label Society are touring from April 3 until April 19. The tour begins in Huntington, New York, and concludes in Anaheim, California.
In addition, Barbaranne noted, “Zakk and I have a joint foundation for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and that we hope to do more aggressive fund raising in the next year as well.”
