One of the men who helped develop rock and roll guitar has left the stage.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Scotty Moore, 84, passed away Tuesday, June 28, after a long illness, although the cause of death was unknown at press time. This essential and iconic guitarist, who powered Elvis Presley's groundbreaking early career with drummer D.J. Fontana and bassist Bill Black, influenced scores of rockers and rockabilly players.
