On December 17, 2010, Sir Paul McCartney performed a 2-hour lunchtime show to promote the 100 Club, a historic music venue on London's Oxford Street which was threatened with closure.
Fans reportedly traveled from Japan, Germany and the US to be among the lucky 300 to experience the intimate show in the cozy basement club.

The former Beatle entranced the crowd with classic tunes including "Let It Be," "Get Back" and "The Long and Winding Road." Many stars, including Ronnie Wood and Liam Gallagher who watched McCartney from the side of the stage, pledged to support the hard-pressed club.
The pinnacle of the show was during "Hey Jude" when McCartney encouraged a jubilant mass singalong:
