CEO and president of God’s Love We Deliver Karen Pearl might have been the night’s greatest rock star, rallying everyone together to support those less fortunate. Bill Murray, Whoopi Goldberg, and Kevin Bacon all helped host, and the Bacon Bros contributed a stealth performance of their own.
Love Rocks NYC showcased some of the most creative and legendary guitar players of all time: Keith Richards, Robert Cray, Billy Gibbons, Jimmie Vaughan, Warren Haynes, Gary Clark Jr., Jimmy Vivino, multi instrumentalist Larry Campbell, Doyle Bramhall II, and David Hidalgo. Even one the greatest tennis players in the history of sports, John McEnroe, joined the musicians with some licks of his own.
The house band blazed and shined, led by the evening's Musical Director, "Uncle" Will Lee, and it included renowned players such as Paul Shaffer, Steve Gadd, Steve Jordan, Ivan Neville, Shawn Pelton, and others.
Other artists sharing their music for the event were Mavis Staples, Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen, Warren Haynes, Ziggy Marley, Andra Day, Trombone Shorty, Marc Cohn, Lucinda Williams, Cheap Trick, Ann Wilson, and Anthony Hamilton.
A concert like this has tremendous impact on both the attendees, as well as the artists and musicians. Next year's Love Rocks NYC cannot come soon enough. Thanks to everyone who contributed to a wondrous and historic evening.
