On this day in 2012, Obama honored Led Zeppelin for among other things, "making us all feel young."

Before a celebrity packed house at the Kennedy Center, Jack Black delivered a hilarious opening speech to the giggling bandmates. A series of bands then took the stage to honor the legendary rockers.

First up were the Foo Fighters with Dave Grohl on drums and Taylor Hawkins taking center stage. Grohl wanted to pay tribute to the late John Bonham, while Hawkins delivered a raucous rendition of "Black Dog," "Rock and Roll," and "Led Zeppelin IV."

Kid Rock brought his best gravely scream for "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" and "Ramble On." Lenny Kravitz and Craig Ross got everyone on their feet for "Whole Lotta Love."

The Zeppelin band members were visibly moved during "Stairway To Heaven" performed by Ann and Nancy Wilson with Jason Bonham on drums. Jason, son of John Bonham, said his father's former bandmates had no idea he was going to be playing drums. "Their faces lit up, and the smiles and tears..." says Bonham. "It was fantastic. What a way to close the show!"
