The Eagles’ 2015 summer tour wraps up on July 29, but guitarist Joe Walsh won’t have much down time afterward.
The guitarist has just announced that he’ll be back on the road this fall. He’ll kick off a month-long tour beginning September 18 performance in Warren, Ohio, and continuing through October 17 in Boston.
Walsh says the shows will feature career-spanning sets that include selections from his solo records and tenures with the James Gang, Barnstorm and the Eagles. Fans can most definitely expect to hear Walsh’s 1973 hit “Rocky Mountain Way,” which you can see below in an all-star 1991 performance featuring Walsh, Brian May, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Nuno Bettencourt.
For the fall shows, Walsh will be backed by his longtime drumming pal Joe Vitale, guitarist Gannin Arnold, bassist Tommy Sims and Foo Fighters percussionist Drew Hester.
“I’m going back in the catalog to dig out some songs that I haven’t ever played live, but everything everyone’s coming to hear will also be in the show,” Walsh says. “I’ve got a great band and I’m excited to play with my old friend Joe Vitale again.
“I also love being able to go into smaller venues,” Walsh adds. “The interaction with the audience is much better, everybody has a good seat, and it reminds me of the old days. I think I play my best in a small venue, when the bass drums are kicking me in the pants. I’m really looking forward to it all.”
Joe Walsh Fan Club members get first dibs on tickets during a pre-sale that begins July 28. Tickets go on sale to the general public starting July 31.
