Joe Satriani has premiered “Shockwave Supernova,” the hard-rocking title track from his new album, and you can hear it below.
This is the second track the guitar virtuoso has released from Shockwave Supernova, which comes out July 24. He previously released “If There Is No Heaven,” and he’s provided glimpses into the album tracks “On Peregrine Wings” and “San Francisco Blue” in a pair of videos.
Satriani recorded Shockwave Supernova last year at Skywalker Sound in Lucas Valley, California, with keyboardist and guitarist Mike Keneally, drummer Marco Minnemann and bassist Bryan Beller. For the recording, Satriani once again teamed up with co-producer and engineer John Cuniberti. The two share production on Shockwave Supernova, as they have on 1986’s Not of This Earth, its followup, Surfing with the Alien, and several other albums.
