Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton says Joe Perry is doing well following the guitarist’s collapse at a performance by his band Hollywood Vampires on July 10.

Perry passed out backstage during the Vampires’ Sunday-night show at the Ford Amphitheater in Coney Island, New York. Page 6 reports that the 65-year-old Aerosmith guitarist went into cardiac arrest around 9:30 p.m. He was rushed to Coney Island Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. The cause of his collapse remains unconfirmed.

“Thankfully, Joe seems to be better than we all first feared,” Hamilton tweeted last night. “Here’s hoping he’s back on stage soon, doing what he loves to do.”

Hollywood Vampires’ publicist Sujata Murthy confirmed Monday night that Perry will be back in concert with the group, noting in a statement, “Joe Perry will rejoin his fellow Vampires on stage again soon.”

Perry’s other Aerosmith bandmates tweeted best wishes for him. Frontman Steven Tyler wrote, “Feel the millions of prayers coming your way. We all love you. Sending white light and all that I got your way.”

Guitarist Brad Whitford also wished “our rock brother Joe Perry a strong and full recovery.”

In light of Perry’s condition, the Hollywood Vampires cancelled last night’s planned appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Frontman Alice Cooper says the band will resume its touring schedule tonight and thanked fans “for supporting Joe.” Hollywood Vampires’ tour schedule is below.
