Today, Fender announced the launch of its “Strum for the Sole” program. A partnership with online shoe and clothing retailer Zappos, "Strum for the Sole" aims to encourage guitar playing in the workplace.
Available to all Zappos employees on an opt-in basis, "Strum for the Sole" includes discounted membership to Fender's educational Fender Play app and discounts on certain Fender instruments on fender.com.
Fender also helped Zappos create a fully equipped "Jam Room" on its corporate campus. Equipped with Fender guitars - mainly from the company's Player, Vintera and California series - amps and accessories, the Jam Room is designed to let employees unwind or practice.
“If it’s successful, and we hope it will be, we can then extend to multiple other corporate partners who might also want to make music available to their employee base as part of their own health and wellness programs,” Evan Jones, chief marketing officer at Fender, told The Drum.
