Although "My Favorite Things" first appeared in the Sound of Music — a musical and a beloved film which doesn't have a lot to do with the Christmas holidays — the song has nonetheless been co-opted by many artists for their holiday albums.

Artists such as Andy Williams, Diana Ross, Herb Alpert, Tony Bennett, the Carpenters, and the Brian Setzer Orchestra have included the tune on their various holiday releases throughout the years.
