Though he is not a guitar player himself, the Prince of Darkness has introduced us to some of the greatest axe men in history and for that we salute you, Ozzy, and wish you a very happy birthday.
His original guitarist was the legendary Tommi Iommi, followed by the otherworldly force known as Randy Rhoads, formerly of Quiet Riot. After Rhoads was tragically killed in a plane crash in 1982, Bernie Torme joined Black Sabbath for a month, followed by Brad Gillis, who soon left to join Night Ranger. Jake E. Lee joined Sabbath in 1982 and remained with the band until 1987.
Zakk Wylde then replaced Lee with Steve Vai and Alex Skolnick stepping in for brief stints in 1994 and 1995. Joe Holmes joined in 1995, followed by Jerry Cantrell. Wylde returned to Ozzy's band in 2006 and after his departure in 2009, Gus G. stepped in.
