Guns N’ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus will bow out of the band’s Australia and New Zealand tour dates after suffering a serious motorcycle accident on September 17.

The guitarist broke his shoulder blade, collar bone, six ribs and a toe. He also has a bruised lung, lacerated liver and concussion. His doctors say he is expected to make a full recovery.

Fortus, who also performs with the group Dead Daisies, will be replaced on those dates by Baby Animals guitarist Dave Leslie. A video of his solo spot at a Guns N’ Roses concert can be viewed below.

“I am healing quickly and getting stronger by the day,” he writes on Facebook. “I’m looking forward to rejoining the Daisies for the KISS Kruise as well as the Whitesnake tour and our own tour of the UK and France.

“I’d like to thank everyone for their well-wishes and can’t wait to be back in Australia very soon.”
